Mount Rainier | Emmons-Winthrop

Mount Rainier | Emmons-Winthrop

Tahoma (Mount Rainier) is the tallest peak in Washington. Our route up the Emmons and Winthrop glaciers climbs the eastern aspect of the mountain over four days.

We will spend two days ascending through old growth forests, subalpine basins, and glaciers to reach our high bivy at Camp Schurman around 9500'. Day three is the summit attempt with nearly 5000' of elevation gain over about 3 miles; it often has the best sunrises anywhere in Washington. On day four, we return to the trailhead and celebrate our shared adventure!
