Itinerary
Day 0: Virtual or in-person equipment check and pre-trip briefing.
Day 1: Depart from Edgeworks Tacoma and drive to the trailhead at White River Campground; hike into Glacier Basin (5,984ft) and set up first camp.
Day 2: An early start through a beautiful subalpine basin leads to the Inter Glacier, our first roped part of the climb. At its top, we descend briefly onto the Emmons Glacier before continuing up to our high camp at Camp Schurman (9,500ft).
Day 3: Summit Attempt. Nearly 5000' of elevation gain over just a few miles and back down to the same campsite. This day takes most parties 10-14 hours roundtrip.
Day 4: Descend from Camp Schurman to the trailhead.
*NOTE: Like any trip in the mountains, maintaining flexibility with the itinerary is key. There are many things outside of our control such as route conditions, weather, and human factors that may affect this trip.
